It is said that Pangea , the most ancient one and only whole landmass surrounded by water on all sides split into 2 major land masses ; Laurasia to the north and Gondwana to the south . Gondwana furthur split into Africa , India , Australia , South America and Antarctica . This spells some relationship between Africans , South Americans and Indians in terms of culture. A remote example would be the name "Kattumaram" , the term used by Tamirs even these days to denote a wooden Catamaran . It is also used by people in the remote easter islands about 600 miles off the coast of South American mainland . The Gondwana split sheds some light on it.
