| After sending a mail just now it also occured to me that there is scope for adding few more information. The distance from nearest town(s). In some cases alternate towns can be given, Temple timings can be added. In the case of Srivanchiyam where I intend to visit I was gathering information. I find that this is the only place which has a temple for YAMA. Both Rahu & Kethu are in single idol. Two Nandis are there. It is one by sixteenth more powerful than KASI(Varanasi)(Kasikku Veesam Athigam)Pithru Kshetram.One can do Sashtiabdhapoorthi etc like in Thirukkadayur.
May be you can request members who visit your side to provide such info either before or after visit or if they reside or resided or belong to that place or hail from such temple place.These are some two cents views to make it A WIKIPEDIA!!!GOD BLESS YOU

While reading about Srivanchiyam the LINGAM is mentioned as INSTALLED whereas all other references mention is as SWAYAMBHU one of the 64 or so existing even after PRALAYAM. May be this needs to be corrected.

English along with the Temple Map/View. In Tamil it is coming in a different font and to get it in tamil, becomes laborious.
Cant you do something about it ?

These are maintained by Centre Govt . but still not popular and excellent in architecture .

used to be taken to as a child nearly sixty years ago. She remembers the name of the deity as Velangkanni Amman, and the
location as Veerampattinam (both names may be a little out!)

I am not sure whether the rameswaram which is one among the 12 jyothirlingams is also forming part of the mirthyu sthalam.
Because the rameswara swamy was installed by SRi ramar ( Mahavjshnu) & in Kancheepuram by Parvathi after killing
mahishasuran. If you know any thing more get back to also. |

I have found 2 issues....
a. You might want to fix the Javascript on many of your web pages.... I keep getting a "Object does not support this property
or method" / "engMenu is undefined" message in IE 5.5.
b. The link on http://mrsriram.tripod.com points to www.templepages.com instead of http://www.templepages.com. This causes
the link to go to http://mrsriram.tripod.com/www.templepages.com.... I am certain this is not your intention.... :-)

program on the history of this temple. I and my wife watched it and decided to visit the temple on our next trip to India.
