Meenakshi sundhareswarar hill temple , theni , is a very small shiva temple visible from the theni -madurai main road . from the main road , entry is from inside the collector office… theni is 77kms from madurai.
one can see the towns of theni , aandippatti and vaigai dam at a distance with beautiful views of western ghats…
a beautiful very small temple on a hillock to spend the evenings but there are no steps but only a dirt incline and hence hard for elderly people.
this temple is protected by forest department and priest comes in the morning it seems. deities can be seen from the locked grill gate. not much is known as sthalapuranam.
as a practice with most shiva temples around the madurai area , this temple could have been named meenakshi sundhareswarar temple.
